The healthcare sector has reached up to 18% of the US GDP. While that does reflect medical progress, expenses have grown disproportionately compared to medical outcomes. Rather than supporting healthcare technology innovation, excessive expenses actually hinder technology innovation when budgets are used in ways that don’t add value to medical outcomes. How can healthcare operate in a way that allocates budgets towards the real priorities?

Our recent webinar, hosted by The Triana Group’s Managing Director Jabril Bensedrine on behalf of our joint-venture SESA SYSTEMS, discusses that. In this webinar, Roy Plaeger-Rockway shares 30 years of experience spearheading innovations in government and health care. Roy has built a Kaizen Promotion Office and led for 7 years the Lean transformation for a $2 billion organization, and he has built the strategic planning and KPI management system for a $600M health care insurer. Over his career, he has engaged and trained 500 executives, senior managers, and teams to do lean problem solving. He has taught Lean methods to the US Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and is a past faculty with the Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI). Roy is the Co-Founder of Washington State’s successful Centers for Occupational Health delivery system and has received the Washington State Governor’s Distinguished Leader Award. He holds a MPA Health Policy University of Washington and has accomplished the Toyota Japan Study Mission Honsha.
