
Paul Borgese, MBA
Marketing and E-Business
Paul provides marketing, e-business and business development advising for TRIANA’s client projects. He currently leads the Emerging Markets Group of the Associated Press. Prior to assuming his position with AP, Borgese helped to develop The Wall Street Journal Online, and worked in the banking sector with the United States Federal Reserve System, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Merrill Lynch. He teaches business at New York University.
Paul holds a BS in Finance and an MPA from the University of Pennsylvania an MBA from New York University, and an additional Masters from Cambridge University, for which he received the British government’s Marshall Scholarship.
Jerome Chevallier, PharmD, MBA
Pharmaceutical Affairs
Jerome brings thirteen years of executive experience in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and medical devices business. Most recently Jerome was a Director at L'Oreal USA, where he successfully launched a medical subsidiary from concept to profitable national distribution. As part of this assignment Jerome had key roles in M&A and due diligence processes, led medical registrations, directed the distribution and brand management, developed and supervised medical sales teams and had P&L responsibility.
Jerome holds a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Caen in France and a MBA from ESSEC Graduate School of Management, Paris.
Rhonda Evans, PhD
Financial Services and Investment Analysis
Rhonda has more than 15 years of economic and investment research experience as a founder and Managing Director of ELM Research & Strategy and the former Managing Director of Research for The McHenry Group. Her industry research expertise encompasses financial services, real estate, healthcare, consumer products, transportation and manufacturing. She has also conducted substantial research on corporate social responsibility and socially responsible investing.
Rhonda graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bryn Mawr College and received her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Visiting Scholar at Berkeley's Institute for Labor and Employment. Evans has received numerous awards, including fellowships from the MacArthur Foundation and the Institute for Global Conflict and Cooperation.
Paul Feffer, PhD
Diligence & Financing, Development & Operations
Paul, a private investor and member of a family-owned financing group, supports all aspects of our projects' scientific and business diligence, financing, and business development. In addition to a strong scientific education, his professional expertise includes marketing and business development, contract negotiation for financing packages of up to tens of millions of dollars, investor relations, and the integration of information technology in business processes. Prior to joining the financing world and during his academic studies, Paul participated in the development of an expert-system start-up that helped clients such as the United States Department of Labor lower healthcare costs and improve the quality of care.
Paul earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley where he developed software for instrument control and analyzed data from X-ray and gamma-ray detectors. Paul earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from Stanford University.
Jonatan Jelen, JD, MBA
Legal Affairs and Organizational Development
Jonatan brings to our projects an experience as a successful entrepreneur, consultant, and business owner. After working and living in Germany, France, Spain and the UK, he joined The Bank of New York as Vice President, followed by a move to Paine Webber as a Divisional Vice President, before successfully launching his first multi-million dollar venture While continuing to serve as a senior advisor to large businesses, Dr. Jelen now teaches and conducts research at leading institutions including the Stern School of Business at New York University, and the University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, China.
Jonatan holds a BS from London School of Economics, graduate degrees in Law and in Business, including a Doctorate in Law from the University of Pau in France, MBA from the Ecole Superieur de Commerce de Paris.
Domenico P. Loschiavo, MBA
Debt & Equity Finance
Mico advises our ventures’ debt & equity financing and banking relationships. Mico founded and continues to lead Lofrima, acting as a US executive advisor to Italian companies preparing to enter the US market. He brings to our projects 36 years of experience in the banking and financial industry in the United States, Australia, Italy, and Hong Kong. He also took part to the establishment of the first U.S. banking operation in the People’s Republic of China. Over his career, Mico has built and managed loan and investment portfolios totaling several billion dollars. He has worked on financing deals and banking relationships for small, midsized, and Fortune 500 companies.
Mico is a graduate of the Universita di Messina in Italy, and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
Jason McNichol, PhD
Strategy and social venture development
Jason's areas of expertise include healthcare services, social ventures, sustainable business practices, and non-profit entrepreneurship. He recently served as a program director at the New York-based Social Science Research Council, a leading international catalyst of new social research. He is also founder and director of Health Advocacy Solutions, a national healthcare consumer support organization, and founder and managing director of ELM Research and Strategy, LLC. McNichol received his Bachelor of Science with Highest Honors from Cornell University, and Master's and PhD degrees in Sociology from the University of California at Berkeley. Over the course of his career, Jason has received awards from the National Science Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Peter Rachor, BS
Technology Transfer
Peter has a long experience in starting up new companies and new divisions within large corporations, in the media, telecommunications, and biotechnology industries. Most recently, Peter was the Director of Venture Development at the University of New Mexico's Science & Technology Corporation, where he worked with the university’s researchers and technology specialists to attract over $350 million of venture capital. Prior to that position, he had launched and managed three technology ventures of his own and held leadership positions internationally with several global telecommunication companies including PocketMail Inc., Lucent Technologies, Worldcom, British Telecom, and Verizon Communications. He holds a degree in Finance from Michigan State University and a certificate in entrepreneurship from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.
Tom Schmidt, PhD
Information Technology
Tom is an expert in information systems. In positions for UBS Warburg and other Fortune 500 companies, Tom has worked as chief technical architect for data warehouse and database applications, including project design, planning and scheduling, as well as database development, implementation, execution, and support. Tom currently holds senior academic positions at the University of Phoenix, where he Chairs the New Jersey College of Information Systems and Technology, and at Fordham University in New York City.
Tom received his Doctorate in Engineering from Tulane University, followed by four years of experience as an information systems manager at Harvard.
John Sweeney, BA
Business Development
John advises the Business Development components of our projects. Currently based in the UK as Director of Sales for Navigator Customer Management, the relationship marketing company, he earlier was the Founder and Managing Director of the North-American subsidiary for a UK mid-sized company, which he successfully brought to profitability within the first year by securing accounts amongst the top Fortune 500 organizations such as Nokia, X-box, IBM, and Microsoft.
John’s career led him from Analyst to Managing Director positions in Europe and the United States, where he has advised and informed global strategic decisions for companies such as British Telecom, HP, Fujitsu Network Communications, EDS, IBM. He has worked at companies including Volvo, BPRI, and McKinsey & Company.
